Which means till inflation rate comes down to zero prices will continue to rise. It is inflation rate goes negative will prices fall. The comment about inflation rate going down only implies that the prices of food will not increase as fast as it was in the last few months, which does not imply that the prices are not increasing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19649274.post-92158996105623958182012-01-27T11:45:42.441+05:302012-01-27T11:45:42.441+05:30Ajai,

The recent news is that food inflation has lowered in India, which I suppose means that the food prices have come down. In reality, as a consumer I see that this is not true when I shop. I have shop-keeper friends who also say that the prices have not eased.<br />What is wrong here? Are these indices, just intellectual empiricism that do not reflect reality? Or is there some fundamental problem with the method. For example, India being so vast and varied in terms of production seasons etc., is it not too simplistic to have one index? Should we not have indices for different states or regions? All of us know that these indices matter. But how can we use them to plan our professional and personal lives meaningfully. Can you demystify? If you can start a separate series in your blog for the uninitiated like me, it will help.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09902137697274084314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19649274.post-57886238675002896552012-01-27T10:23:07.261+05:302012-01-27T10:23:07.261+05:30In US montly publication of inflation and unemploy...In US montly publication of inflation and unemployment numbers and focus on media on that keeps the pressure.
