Getting results on education and health expenditures of government

Lant and Jeff are the best deep thinkers about how to make the Indian government function better.

  1. talk about gormint expenditure..India has just cocked up the Chandrayan mission to the moon. Of course we can argue about what "cocked up" means ad nauseum.

BUT IS IT FAIR FOR A "DEMOCRATIC" COUNTRY WHICH HAS NOT YET MANAGED GUTTERS/STORM DRAINS/SEWAGE SYSTEMS/SIDEWALKS/HIGHWAYS/DRINKING WATER...TO BE SENDING EXPENSIVE "MISSIONS" TO THE MOON?

what kind of "inclusive" "participatory" democracy manages space probes before sewage systems ? Madam, hold on to your bladder this is india! HA HA HA. Sir, any wall will do for you.

of course on the ground the reality is worse...state gormints can't "manage" to place orders for air conditioned buses even.

India: the world's only "smart" country....why,... we study differential equations in 10th standard dont u know! but you can't teach people "standards"!

Maybe the brits should come back?

what do LANT et al have to say about how the indyan gormint "functions better"? Mind U, ISRO is staffed by PhDs i take it, many of them from (gasp) iit's.
