Its name originates

from “ Jhar “ which means bushes and became popular during the British period. Earlier, majority of its area was

called Chota Nagpur which takes its origin from the land of Nagwanshis and find their description right from the

Indus Valley Civilization. The arc of cancer passes through its capital Ranchi. Now it has 4 commissionaires and

22 districts totaling an area of 79714 sq km with population of 2,69,09,428( 13th position in India ). The main

source of income is through mining activities.
Please Visit For More Detail
http://desidirectory.com/india-travel-guide/
sushilsinghhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09093580116674142287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19649274.post-28938528766430917152007-02-24T05:38:00.000+05:302007-02-24T05:38:00.000+05:30I think Mehta is correct. The original re-organization of states in the mid-1950s was violent and filled with fear about national unity being weakened. The recent birth of Uttarkhand, Chhatisgarh and Jharkhand was quite peaceful. All political parties in the state legislature agreed to the change and voted in favor of it. The central government simply ratified the decision. There is a similar consensus building up for a separate Vidarbha one day. There is no consensus in AP about Telengana.

In UP, it may take another round of bad government and 4 un-cooperative deadlocked parties in the state legislature before the political class turns to the idea of splitting the state. It is better that way, even if it delays change, since re-drawing boundaries is always a risky business and it is best to proceed after building consensus.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00444599045776083693noreply@blogger.com
