Paper on corporate governance in India

Rajesh Chakrabarti, William L. Megginson and Pradeep K. Yadav have a paper surveying the literature on corporate governance in India.

  1. Most of the findings are accurate. From my own experience and a group of non-resident Indians, a large number of Indian companies flout the company law and have scant respect for corporate governance.

Ten years ago we invested money and the company refuses to talk and send any information on the status of the company.

Is there any institutional mechanism to force them to behave and respond?
